Believe in the impossible

The Dogsquad was FORMED in January 1995 with only one athlete, Greg Mitchell. A month later a group of girls (Avril Halstead, Lesley Morrison, Carin Hume and Kathleen Shuttleworth) joined this group of one. The NAME "Dogsquad" and the idea of the Dog rankings came from them. We have strong values, will not lie or cheat, use drugs or act negative towards any of fellow "dogs" or our competitors. Here at the Dogsquad we hate the saying “WINNING is everything.” We will not tolerate people who think and act like that. Running is just a game. When you lose, get injured or run a really bad time, no one needs to die, rivers don’t change their course and the sun still rises and sets. It is a roller coaster game of many ups and downs. It’s just a game. WINNING is a gift from God. When you give it your best, and that happens to be better than your opponents’ best effort, you will receive the gift of WINNING. It’s not a shame to lose when you have given your best. WINNING becomes more meaningful when you have competed against the best and they all have performed at their best level as well. Remember when we give it our all, we can live with ourselves, regardless of the results. Anybody can become part of the Dogsquad family. Whether you want to train for the Olympics or just want to be a social runner there will be a place for you To qualify for the Dogsquad you do not need any SPECIAL talent, but you do need to love running or even better, be absolutely passionate about running. You must bring lots of joy and energy to the group and not only tap from it. When you are down, we will pick you up. You MUST HAVE integrity and a pure heart. As your COACH we will not motivate you, but will try to inspire you we will not push you but will SHOW you the way we will only take you to the level you want to be we will not SET goals for you, but will tell you what we think is realistic, and remember, you can always prove us wrong we promise that you will not get more out, than what you are willing to put in we do not expect life to treat us fairly and understand that the world owes us nothing we believe anything is possible but you have to believe it too we believe that we can ONLY do all these things because of Jesus Christ who strengthens us we are not here to glorify ourselves but to give all the glory to our saviour, the Prince of peace, Jesus Christ! In this world we are known as the "DOG"squad but in heaven we would like to be called the "GOD"squad!
